If you are like many Americans, you have people in your home that suffer from allergies and/or asthma. Dealing with these issues are no fun and most people will do what they can to reduce the things that cause the allergies and asthma to flare up. You may think that most of the allergens are outdoors and that when you are in your house you are safe from them. That is just not true! There are many allergens that are floating around and home and can be more of an annoyance than those found outside. The problem is that you are in a closed in space and the allergens are closer to the people causing the flare ups.

Nadia’s House Cleaning lists ways to reduce the amount of allergens in your home.

The Laundry Room Allergies: The laundry and the appliances that are in there can cause a serious amount of allergens. One way you can reduce the amount of allergens is to use only liquid detergents to stop the dust from powdered cleaners to float up in the air. Never overload the washing machine and be sure that you wash all new clothes before you wear them. You also want to be sure that you pull out the lint trap and clean it out on a regular basis. This will not only dry your clothes faster since there is less lint to get through but will also keep more allergens caught in the trap itself and less in the air.
Allergens in Carpets & Rugs: The carpets in your home are host to many kinds of allergens. There is dirt and dust that is in the air and as it starts to settle, the carpet is normally where it lands. As you walk past the carpet and through a room the allergens are then back in the air causing allergies to flare up. There is also dead skins cells and bug carcasses on the carpeting as well which adds to the allergens. You want to be sure that you vacuum your carpets often at least once a day to ensure that all the allergens are removed. Then you want to empty the bag or canister outside. Also take care to vacuum the rugs in the home as well since they also have the same allergens as the carpet.
Change Out The Air Filters: The filters are in the return air on your home. They are part of the air conditioning system in your home that heats and cools your home. The filter is there to catch the allergens and dust that is found in the air. If you forget to change out the filters on a regular basis you are allowing the allergens to float back in the house. You want to be sure that you change them out as recommended by an air conditioning technician.

Cleaning the house is a task that is never done and needs to be kept up on a daily basis. It may seem like cleaning is a task that is better left for later or maybe you are a person that does all the cleaning when someone says they are on their way over. The problem with both of these types of cleaning is that it can leave you stressed out and anxious. When you feel this way you are less likely to get all the tasks done and you then won’t enjoy your visitor or time in your home. If you are like the majority and feel overwhelmed with the amount of chores and cleaning that need to be done, there are some things that you can do so it gets done efficiently … and you are not stressing about it.

Nadia’s House Cleaning offers tips to take the stress out of cleaning and still getting your chores done.

Pick One Thing to Clean: When you look around a room and it is a disaster, you think you are never going to finish and you have no idea where to even get started. The tip is: Pick one thing! You can start with garbage, clothes or books; whatever you can see there are several of and walk through the room focusing only on those items. Then you can feel a sense of accomplishment even though the room is not complete just yet!
Give Yourself Time to Clean: You never want to wait until someone is practically knocking at your door to begin cleaning the house. You will find yourself taking care of things that really don’t matter and maybe missing the things you want cleaned. When you schedule time in your day, whether it is a few minutes or a few hours, you want to use that time wisely and take your time with the task you choose. You can be sure that you are doing the cleaning with a purpose and not going through something that can wait until a later time.
Schedule Household Chores: It is best to have some sort of a schedule when you do your chores. It makes the chores go by faster and you can focus on a specific task instead of all the chores at once. Pick a day to take care of the bathrooms and a different day to dust the furniture. Spread out any major chores so that you don’t feel overwhelmed with the amount of cleaning on any given day. You know how much you can handle.
House Cleaning Help: If you live in a house with kids or other adults, share the load. It may seem like the chore is done better when you do it yourself but you should involve other people including kids. You can have the kids be responsible for a task a day. Be sure that the task can be done by that person and that takes one more item off your plate.
Hire Professional Maid Services: The last tip is to use a professional cleaning service to come out on a regular basis to clean the house. We can do all the major deep cleaning and the upkeep is easy in between professional cleaning. This will help you feel less stressed since you only have to maintain the cleanliness.

Most people enjoy varying levels of clean in their home. Having a disinfected and sanitized home to boot can make the clean enthusiast ecstatic, especially when wanting to remove the lingering germs after someone has been sick. No one enjoys the seemingly endless circle of getting sick over and over again.

Nadia’s House Cleaning share some tips to better sanitize your house after you or a loved one has conquered a summer flu bug or sickness.

Sanitize Surfaces Using Vinegar: Vinegar is natural and inexpensive that is very successful in aiding the war on filth, and it does an exceptional job of dissolving germs leading to colds and illnesses.
– Start by filling a spray bottle with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. If vinegar smells offend you, add 1 part lemon juice to neutralize the aroma. With your newly created formula, spray and wipe down all the surface areas in the kitchen and bathroom, including door handles and light switches.
– Do not neglect your laundry room. Laundry rooms often get overlooked when attempting to sanitize your home. Be sure to disinfect your laundry baskets with your vinegar solution. Wash your towels, linens and bedding on the hot temperature setting of your washer to kill any lingering germs. Don’t forget to wipe down the washer and dryer surfaces with the vinegar concoction.
Sanitize Upholstery With the Sun: One of the benefits of summer colds and illnesses is the ability of using the sun’s warm rays to contribute to the sanitizing process. The sun can play a role in eliminating the spreading of germs. Simply place your comforters, rugs, pillows, even smaller mattresses outside, and anything else you can manage in the direct sunlight as it is a great way to burn away the germs.
Sanitizing With Tea Tree Oil: Tea tree oil fans can use the awesome power of the antibacterial and antifungal elements to fight illness spreading germs. Tea tree oil can clean and freshen without any chemical additives.
– Disinfect with your vacuum. Apply a few drops of tea tree oil to a few cotton balls, and place it the vacuum cleaner bag or dirt collector container.
– In your empty spray bottle, combine 2 tsp of tea tree oil with 2 cups of water (optional: add a few drops of mild liquid dish soap). This formula is perfect for a fresh smelling cleaner to spray and wipe all surface areas in kitchens and bathrooms. Be sure to use it on floors, light switches, door knobs, and other commonly handled areas. Don’t forget frequently touched and handled surfaces, for example; computer keyboards, toys, doorknobs, railings, toilet handle, drawer and cabinet handles, faucets, and other things sickly hands can get a hold of.
Sanitize With Hydrogen Peroxide: Your toothbrush should soak it in hydrogen peroxide to kill any lingering germs.
