When it comes to window cleaning, we know it is one of the most neglected chores during house cleaning; especially outside window cleaning. With all of our fancy commercial products, window cleaning is still one of the most annoying chores of the home. Nadias House Cleaning sympathizes with you. However with the right tools, cleaners, and techniques, you will find you can clean your windows with more ease and your windows will look cleaner than ever before. Here are a few cleaning tips for the inside as well as the outside of your windows.

How to Clean Inside Windows Without Streaks

For the interior window cleaning, the first step is to use a bucket or something that will hold water. Fill the bucket with cold water and add a few drops of liquid dish soap. Use a clean or fresh sponge to wash your windows from top to bottom with the soapy water. Make sure to clean the frames while you’re at it. After you have washed the windows, wipe them down with a dry cloth. You will then need to use a cleaner. You have three options that work well. Of course Windex has always worked well for cleaning glass. However, you can use vinegar diluted with water, or ammonia diluted with water. All three work well when it comes to cleaning your windows. Keep in mind when mixing your own cleaners, it is best to use distilled water verses tap water. Tap water has minerals inside them that leave streaks and deposits on the glass. Wipe the cleaning solution of choice away with either a paper towel or a micro fiber cloth. You may need to reapply the cleaner and wipe it away again if windows have been neglected or if they are really dirty. Additionally, make sure to take the time and do one window at a time.

How to Clean Outside Windows

Here we go with one of these most neglected chores; cleaning the windows on the outside. This hardly ever gets done, especially in the cold seasons. Therefore, the windows outside are pretty dirty and will take a little bit more effort to clean. Start by rinsing the window off with the hose to remove as much of the dirt of as you can. Once again, use a sponge and with cool water combined with a few drops of liquid dish soap, wash the window and windowsill to prevent any dirt smearing onto the glass later. For higher windows, use an extension pole with a microfiber mop to help reach the taller areas. Afterward, you can use the hose to rinse the window off again. Pay close attention to rinsing out the corners and edges of the windowsills. You don’t want to get dirt running down the glass. Once again pick you cleaner of choice; Windex, Vinegar or an Ammonia water base cleaner. And use a rubber bladed squeegee to remove the cleaner. Go from the top to the bottom and then work your way to the other side of the glass. For the few lines that might be left behind going down or at the bottom of the window, use a clean micro fiber cloth to wipe them away.

The timing of the flu can vary from season to season. It most commonly peaks between December to March, but flu viruses can cause illness until late May. The best way to prevent getting the flu is to be vaccinated. Staying home when you’re sick, covering coughs and sneezes along with washing our hands will slow down the spread of influenza. Cleaning and disinfecting are the best ways to prevent spreading the flu and other infectious diseases in schools and childcare settings.

Difference Between Cleaning, Disinfecting & Sanitizing?

Cleaning will remove dirt germs and other impurities form surfaces and objects. This is done with the use of soap and water to remove the germs physically. Cleaning will not kill the germs, but if the germs are removed, it will reduce the numbers and the risk of infection being spread. Disinfecting will kill the germs on the surfaces and objects. The process of disinfecting works with the use of chemicals that will kill the germs. Disinfection may not remove germs, but killing the germs after they’ve been cleaned will aid in lowering the risk of the infection spreading. Sanitizing will reduce the number of germs to safe levels on surfaces and objects. These levels are judged by public health standards and requirements. Sanitation is accomplished by disinfection or cleaning the surfaces or objects to lower the risk of spreading infection.

What Surfaces in Schools Need to Be Cleaned?

Surfaces and objects that are touched more often need to be cleaned and disinfected. Daily sanitizing of surfaces and objects like desks, countertops, doorknobs, keyboards, faucets, phones, toys and hands-on learning tools is required. For more protection, these items also need to be disinfected. Any items or areas that are visibly dirty need to be cleaned right away. Areas that are soiled with blood or other bodily fluids need to be cleaned with gloves and other safety gear to avoid coming into contact with them. Always remove the spill first, then clean it and finish with disinfection. Routine cleaning and disinfection need to be matched with the types of germs you want removed and the activities being done.

Clean & Disinfect the Right Way

Labels need to be followed correctly on cleaning products and disinfectants. Surfaces need to be washed with general household cleaners to remove germs as well as rinsed with water and disinfected to kill germs. The label should state that it’s EPA approved to kill germs. The label should also state that its approved to be effective against the flu virus. Surfaces that aren’t visibly dirty can be cleaned with an EPA registered product that will clean and disinfect. It’s important to read the label to make sure there’s isn’t a separate procedure for the product if it’s used as a cleaner or as a disinfectant. When a product is used as a disinfectant, it will often times need to stay on the surface for a given amount of time for it to be effective. Items or areas that are touched more often, like computer keyboards and phones, can be wiped down with disinfecting wipes. To make sure the surface is wet for the amount of time needed, you might have to use more than one wipe.

It may not seem like a big deal to make a bed but the bed is the focal point in a bedroom. The bed should be made properly to give the room a nice neat look as well as some calmness to it. The neater the room looks, the easier it will be to relax, fall asleep and enjoy your room. Some people choose to just throw their blankets on the bed since they will be using it again the next day but that is a terrible habit. It is a great idea to have a nice clean area when you come in to rest. Sleep is an important part of your day because it will help you be rested and ready for the next day. It is also great when you want to stay healthy and get rid of an illness. Making a bed perfectly really doesn’t take much time once you know what you need to do.

Nadia’s House Cleaning Lists Steps To Make Your Bed Perfectly

Invest In Good Quality Sheets & Bedding: Do you go out and purchase your clothes without any thought of comfort? Of course not! You know that you are going to have your clothes on all day long and want to feel comfortable. Now think about the sheets that are on your bed. You will be laying on them for hours each night so you don’t want to go out and get the cheapest ones you can find. Take some time and spend a little extra to purchase nicer sheets that will feel great when you lay on them. The higher the thread count the more comfortable they should be and the longer they are intended to last. Now you want to take the fitted sheet and pull it as tight as you can on the mattress. This will help to keep it in place while you sleep. Then add the flat sheet and leave about a foot at the top so that you can fold it down. A trick is to place the flat sheet on flipped with the wrong side up so when you make the fold it will show the nice seamed edge.
Tuck A Thin Blanket Over The Sheets: The next step you want to take to get your bed looking great is to find a good thin blanket. You can find one that fits the theme of the bedding and the room that will act as an accent. This blanket will get tucked in with the flat sheet and turned down about a foot as well. You can use the blanket when you sleep for a little warmer night.
Place Comforter on Bed: This is the next step in bed making. You can grab whatever comforter that you have for the bedding and put it on the bed. You want to take a minute to ensure that you have equal amounts of comforter hanging on each side and the bottom of the bed. Then you can roll back the comforter so that you can see the sheets and under blanket.
Decorate With Accent Pillows: You don’t want to top your bed with just the pillows that you actually use to rest your head on. You want to get a few pillows that will decorate the bed. Just as if you were decorating a wall you would use something with some interest. You can use different size pillows as well as some texture and design on the fabric. This is the best way to finish off the look of the bed.
