The way our home smells can be a reflection on how clean it is and when people walk into our homes we want it to smell clean. There seem to be some odors that just linger inside our homes and it doesn’t matter what you do they just won’t go away. Sometimes we can’t open our windows to air the place out so we need to have other ways to freshen the place up. There are lots of products on the market that are made to eliminate odors in the home but only seem to work temporarily.

Best Way to Deodorize & Get Rid of Bad Odors in the House

1. Stale refrigerator smell. Having a fridge that smells stale every time you open it will make you lose your appetite. Using a box of baking soda can do wonders in eliminating odors and can work in the freezer too. If this doesn’t work, you can try using activated charcoal.
2. Cigarette smoke. In carpet and upholstery, the smell of smoke can stay around for a long time. Baking soda can be sprinkled over the affected areas and left for a few hours. Make sure you give the baking soda enough time to soak the smell up and follow up with a vacuum cleaner equipped with a HEPA filter.
3. Stinky garbage disposal. Are you getting a whiff of last night’s dinner coming out of your garbage disposal? Try pouring white vinegar into the disposal while it’s running or freeze the vinegar in ice cube trays so the disposal can chop them up. You can also try using oxygen bleach.
4. Musty dishwasher smell. No one wants a stinky smell coming out of the appliance that is meant to clean their dishes. Try running the dishwasher through a cycle while is empty and use two cups of white vinegar instead of soap to remove odors.
5. Smelly coffee pot. Having a smelly cup of coffee isn’t the first drink you want to have in the morning. It’s a good idea to run a full pot of coffee with one part white vinegar and two parts water for an effective way to remove odors. Just make sure you run a pot of water through it before your next pot of coffee so you don’t taste the vinegar!
6. Funky smelling drawers. A great way to remove odors from the drawers in your home is to sprinkle baking soda in them. Allow it to sit for a few hours or days if you can and use the HEPA vacuum to vacuum it up.
7. Pungent pet odors in the home. Pets are like members of the family and we love having them around. The only problem is they can be smelly. Make sure you’re dusting and airing out your house and vacuum with the trusty HEPA filter vacuum and use pet-odor-specific cleaning products to remove odors. You can also use HEPA certified air purifiers that have strong, odor-removing capabilities.

But can more be done to improve the work place or boost customer satisfaction? You might be surprised to find there is … and it is as simple as a properly cleaned environment. Nadia’s House Cleaning will share the many benefits of utilizing commercial cleaning services.

Customer Retention Formula & Strategies; Clean Workplace

The image of the business speaks louder than words. Customer or clients are drawn to the physical appearance of the inside of your building. An old, dirty run down space doesn’t leave a positive impression of your company and its work ethics. A well organized clean building says your work ethics are just as clean and organized as your building, and your time and money is well spent here. Customer feel more pleased with their investments and feel like the price was right if they weren’t hassled or overcharged. With a positive experience, they are more likely to return and even spread the word about your business.

A Clean Business Contributes to Employee Longevity

Studies have been conducted that reveal more than 34 percent of employees that were surveyed claim a dirty or unorganized environment or workplace reduces their productivity. Up to 50 percent of employees in the same study said their messy environment lowered their interest in continuing to work, which damaged the professional outlook for their company. Those same studies of those who worked in a regularly cleaned and maintained work environment enhanced the pride of working under such a company and made the employees feel they are a part of something bigger which helped improves their desire to stay.

How to Reduce Absenteeism at Workplace

A great benefit of having a regular cleaning service for your commercial building is the sterilization. The office, kitchens, bathrooms and other high traffic places are not only dusted and polished to look clean, but they are additionally disinfected of germs that cause illnesses such as the common cold or flu. Every surface is disinfected to prevent the spreading of germs which means less sick days for your employees and that means more work is accomplished.

Regular Cleaning Reduces Business Costs

Regular cleaning of the office or other commercial settings will help reduce the cost of replacing unattended items. Carpets as well as other office items that are regularly cleaned improve the longevity of the surrounding items which help reduce the cost of the need to replace or repair those items. Additionally, a cleaning service can help reduce accidents that could occur around the building. By keeping the office or commercial atmosphere clean and free of additional clutter, employees or customers won’t trip or get hurt.

There is some cleaning equipment or tools every home shouldn’t be without. Whether you’re newly married and moving into your own home and need your own cleaning equipment or a single bachelor that’s moving out for the first time. Perhaps you are not sure what your home or apartment needs to help keep it clean, and some are just not sure what is necessary. For those beginners shopping for their own cleaning supplies, Nadia’s House Cleaning will break down the top most used cleaning tools that you should have in your home or apartment.

List of Housecleaning Tools & Equipment Every Home Should Have

Cleaning Sponges – When you’re shopping for cleaning supplies start with getting a good sponge and one with double sides. One side should be a regular sponge and the other side should be more abrasive for deeper cleaning. Sponges are not just used for cleaning dishes but also do wonders in the bathroom as well. You may want to get a sponge for each room. Also make sure to clean your sponge off after every use to keep it clean as well.
All White Towels or Wash Cloths – We say all white for many reasons. They are reasonable in price and you can buy a dozen at a time in any hardware store. More importantly, they also do well with cleaning other fabrics. You will hear that you should never use a colored cloth or towel to clean a stain on the carpet or couch. This is because colored cloth can leave dye behind, discoloring and creating a bigger stain. Additionally they make great all around cleaning rags for any cleaning tasks. They are easily washed and cleaned for future use.
Window Glass Squeegees – Squeegees can be used to make window cleaning fast and they do a great job removing water not just on windows but in bathrooms as well. For those with glass showers or even tile, using a squeegee after every use helps reduce mold, and hard water build up. This makes a squeegee a must have tool for windows and bathrooms.
Microfiber Cloth – For those who like mirrors and windows to be streak free, your best chance of achieving that is by using a micro-fiber cloth to wipe down your glass.
Spray Bottles – There are so many different types of materials we bring into our living spaces such as glass, wood, metal and plastic. Each type of surface requires its own kind of cleaner. Therefore it helps to have a few spray bottles on hand to mix or hold your different types of cleaning solutions.
Broom, Dustpan & Mops – Most hard surfaced floors can be cleaned with a broom, dustpan and mop with the exception of a few who may require their own cleaning utensils. However for keeping your floors cleaned easily and quickly, you will need a good mop, broom and dustpan.
Vacuum – Carpets, upholstery, and rugs are not a vacuums limit. A vacuum comes with many attachments that can help clean those hard to reach areas. It can suck up dirt wherever dirt and dust can be found. A vacuum is a must have in any home even those without carpets.
Bucket & Scrub Brush – A bucket and scrub brush can help tend to stains, dirty windows, and floors with the ease. Keep two types of scrub brushes: one soft bristled and a rough bristled brush. Some areas can be damaged with too course of a brush and other times, some messes may need a tougher brush.
Toothbrush – A toothbrush can clean those tight areas where you may need some scrubbing power. You can use an old toothbrush or get a new, one but never be without a toothbrush for cleaning those small, tight areas.

We all have times when our house seems messy and more cluttered than usual. How do you know when you have crossed the line between clutter and hoarding? There is a big difference between the two and many people don’t understand it. For those that are concerned that clutter has turned into hoarding, Nadia’s House Cleaning is here to shed some light on the differences between the two.

Hoard Meaning; Hoarding is More than a Mess

Those that suffer from a hoarding disorder have much more than just a messy house. They often collect things. These things usually have little to no value. You may notice a friend or loved one start to collect junk mail, or condiments from their favorite fast food restaurants. These might seem like inconsequential things, but to a hoarder, they have real value. Those with a hoarding disorder will find it very painful to let any of these things go. When this disorder is present in a household, it often puts strains on relationships and creates an environment that the one with a disorder feels shame over. There are often several rooms in a hoarders’ home that aren’t able to be used because of the amount of junk that has been collected over time.

A Messy House is Not Always a Sign of Mental Illness or Disorder

Everyone has different tolerance when it comes to clutter. Unlike hoarding, it isn’t considered to be a mental illness although it may be a sign of some conditions such as bipolar disorder. When someone is collecting many possessions and doesn’t have a hoarding disorder, these items usually carry value and aren’t considered junk to everyone else. When someone simply has a cluttered home, the house is still a safe place to reside and doesn’t pose a health risk. All of the rooms should be able to be used as they are intended, and there isn’t the same level of shame involved in clutter like there is with hoarding. Those that have a cluttered home may have a hard time keeping their home neat and tidy, but it doesn’t interfere with their lives like a hoarding disorder does.

Symptoms for How to Tell if You or a Loved One Has a Hoarding Disorder

When you suspect a hoarding problem, there are signs that can help you evaluate the problem.
– Collecting junk mail, magazines, newspaper & more
– Rooms that can’t be used as they are intended because of the mountains of items
– Food and trash accumulating throughout the house, making it unhealthy to live there
– Embarrassment and shame when people come to visit
– Inability to part with useless items
– Unhealthy attachment to items and anxiety when others handle or touch them
