Removing Turkey Gravy Stains

Be sure to scrape up any access gravy. Absorb the remainder with a paper towel. Be sure not to rub vigorously, only dab at the stain so it doesn’t set deep into the fibers. Gently massage some dishwashing soap into the carpet. Rinse the stain away well. The flushing process will lift the gravy along with grease. Pre-treat the remaining stain with a laundry pre-wash stain remover. With a clean, damp cloth pat up the stain after about 30 minutes. If the stain was dark and deep, an enzyme cleaner should be applied and the labels instructions followed precisely.

Removing Red Wine Stains

Quickly blot the spill with paper towels or clean absorbent cloths. After the majority of the surface liquid has been absorbed, take a new cloth or paper towel and stand on the area to pull up residing liquid at the bottom. With a spray water, apply clean, cold water to the stain. Continue to blot with dry paper towels or cloth. In a bucket combine 1 TBS dishwashing liquid, 1 TBS white vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water. Dampen a clean cloth with the mixture and apply small amounts to the stain. ( Too much mixture will be difficult to rinse.) Blot with a dry cloth as you go to lift the stain. Once the stain has been removed, rinse with clean water spray bottle, and pat dry with a clean towel. To ensure dryness, place a few dry, clean paper towels to the dampen area and place a heavy object on top. Allow to sit over night for optimum drying.

Removing Blood Stains (For the Clumsy knife handlers)

Begin by blotting the stain quickly. Always blot when attending this stain, as scrubbing could cause the stain to set deeper in the fibers. With paper towels, blot as much moisture as possible. In a separate spray bottle mix accordingly. For wool; 1 tsp. mild, non-alkali detergent with 1 cup of water. Synthetic fibers; 2 Tbsp. household ammonia, with 1 cup cold water. Oriental; 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts cold water. Spray the appropriate cleaning solution to the stain. Blot with a clean cloth until there is no residue on the cloth. You will need to change out to a clean cloth often. Repeat until the stain is removed satisfactorily. Rinse with the following solution in a spray bottle; 2-6 drops mild, non-alkali dish detergent to 1 cup cold water. Blot once again with clean, dry cloth. Rinse a final time with plain clean water. Blot till near dry and allow to air dry.
