How to Keep Your Boston MA House Clean & Smelling Fresh All the Time!

If you are like the majority of people you don’t want to just have a nice clean home but you want it to smell good too. The cleaning supplies that are used to clean your home can sometimes be harsh and smell just like that; cleaning products. Making sure your home is clean is the best way to be sure those smells that you don’t want to smell are gone. Many times the smells are coming from that musky smell of dust and dirt or smells from dirty laundry or an unclean bathroom.

Nadia’s House Cleaning has some great tips on ways to get your home smelling fresh and clean.

Use Coconut or Other Essential Oils: Essential Oils are all the rave these days. People are depending on them for their lovely and beautiful smells as well as their medicinal purposes. There are many ways to use the oils and spread the smell around your home. One way is to use a diffuser that will release the smell of the oil through you home or room that it is in. You can also use a small spray bottle and a few drops of oil mixed with water to spritz around the home. If you don’t want to use these methods to spread the oil, dab a few spots around the home using a q-tips.

Orange & Lemon Peel Scents: This is a little secret that many people don’t know about but can spread a lovely citrus smell through your kitchen. When you peel an orange or use a lemon do not throw out the peel! You can use the peel to put in the garbage disposal and turn it on. The peel will be broken down and the smell will be released and sent into the air.

Carpet Deodorizers Remove Pet Smells & Other Odors: You don’t need to go to the store and buy some fancy deodorizer. You can make some with products that you probably already have. Many smells get trapped in the carpet fibers and you can use your mixture of borax and baking soda to remove it. Sprinkle the mixture on the carpet and let it sit on the carpet for several minutes, then run the vacuum over to remove the powder.

Homemade Stovetop Potpourri Scents: You can buy that bag of overwhelming potpourris that many people used to keep in their bathrooms or you can make your own. Making your own gives you the opportunity to add the smells that you want. Use a saucepan and throw in some cut up lemons as well as some of your favorite herbs, Allow it to simmer and the smell will flow through your home.
